The Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Systems course enables graduates to carry out the installation, commissioning, and de-commissioning of single head, split heat or air conditioning pump systems. The maximum plant capacity allowed is 18 kWr, and the curriculum covers various systems, including floor, wall hung, and ceiling suspended ducted fan and cassette coil split systems, as well as water heating heat pump systems. However, this qualification does not include the skills needed for maintenance, service, or repair, diagnostics, electrical work, or the installation of commercial air conditioning, heat pump or refrigeration equipment.
