LET US CERTIFY YOUR SKILLS

The role of an electrician encompasses the installation, maintenance, and repair of power and electrical systems in various settings such as residential, commercial, and industrial properties. This includes installing electrical wiring and controls to ensure efficient electrical operations.

Individuals who possess extensive experience in electrical work but lack formal qualifications can benefit from the Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician program. The process of obtaining a recognised qualification through prior skills and experience is straightforward, albeit requiring a significant level of commitment. Skills Certified Australia can assist you in obtaining the necessary subjects to acquire the appropriate qualification and electrical contractor’s license.

To be eligible for the program, you must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • a crafts certificate,
  • Trades Recognition Australia
  • 3+ years of local experience
  • partially completed studies in Australia
  • electrical City and Guilds qualification
  • an overseas licence or qualification

After satisfying the eligibility criteria, you will need to take a challenge test to acquire any outstanding units that you have not previously obtained. A competency discussion or practical exam will be conducted for each unit.

If you lack knowledge or experience in a specific area or fail a challenge test, gap training will be required. Gap training consists of both practical and theoretical evaluations, which can be completed online, in a classroom, or at home. Practical assignments can be completed either on-site or at an RTO training facility partner.

Upon successful completion of the aforementioned requirements, you will be given the opportunity to participate in the self-paced Capstone course and the Australian Standards and Wiring Regulations course.
